Create and use your wallet
Business guide — a multi-signature wallet, connected to ACTUARUS
On ACTUARUS, your funds never pass through the platform: they stay in your wallet until they are locked in the transaction's smart contract. The choice and configuration of this wallet are therefore essential. For a company, ACTUARUS recommends a multi-signature wallet.
WHY A MULTI-SIGNATURE WALLET
A standard wallet relies on a single key: the person who holds it alone controls the funds, and losing it makes them inaccessible. A multi-signature wallet requires the agreement of several signatories for each operation, according to a threshold you set — for example two signatures out of three.
| Benefit | In practice |
|---|---|
| No single person moves the funds | Each payment is validated by several managers, like a dual bank signature. |
| A lost key blocks nothing | With a two-out-of-three threshold, the other two signatories keep access and replace the lost key. |
| Governance suited to a company | Signatories can be added or removed as people join and leave, without changing address. |
CHOOSE ACCORDING TO THE NETWORK
ACTUARUS runs on Ethereum and Solana
| Network | Multi-signature wallet | Signatories' personal wallet |
|---|---|---|
| Ethereum | Safe — app.safe.global | Hardware key (Ledger, Trezor) paired with MetaMask or Rabby |
| Solana | Squads — squads.xyz | Hardware key (Ledger) paired with Phantom or Solflare |
Choose the network before creating the wallet: this is the network on which you will receive your stablecoins and settle your transactions. For most companies, a single wallet is enough.
CREATE THE WALLET IN FIVE STEPS
-
Appoint the signatories and the threshold
Choose at least three signatories — for example the managing director, the finance director and a director — and a threshold of two signatures. Avoid a threshold equal to the number of signatories: losing a single key would block the funds.
-
Equip each signatory
Each signatory creates their own personal wallet, ideally protected by a hardware key. They write down their recovery phrase on paper, keep it offline in a safe place, and never photograph or share it.
-
Create the multi-signature wallet
From Safe (Ethereum) or Squads (Solana), a signatory creates the wallet, names it after the company, adds each signatory's address and sets the threshold.
-
Deploy the wallet
The creation is recorded on the blockchain. It requires a small amount of the network's native token — ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana — to be provided in the wallet of the signatory who creates the account.
-
Register the address
Copy the multi-signature wallet's address and add it to the authorised withdrawal addresses with your authorised provider. It is this address, and not a signatory's, that will receive your stablecoins.
USE THE WALLET ON ACTUARUS
-
Connect the wallet
From your ACTUARUS space, connect your multi-signature wallet. It becomes the company's settlement account for all your transactions.
-
Sign the contract
The parties validate the terms of the transaction — price, condition, compliance criteria, deadlines — and sign the electronic contract.
-
Lock the funds
A signatory proposes the lock, the others approve it up to the set threshold. The funds then move from your wallet to the smart contract. Network fees are covered by ACTUARUS.
-
Receive and confirm
On receipt of the goods, the buyer confirms compliance under the same signature rule.
-
Receive the payment
On the seller's side, the released funds arrive directly in the company's multi-signature wallet, ready to be kept or converted back into euros.
