Create and use your wallet

Individual guide — a secure personal wallet, connected to ACTUARUS

Reference document for individuals · Position as of 19 October 2026

On ACTUARUS, your funds never pass through the platform: they stay in your wallet until they are locked in the transaction's smart contract. The choice and configuration of this wallet are therefore essential. For an individual, ACTUARUS recommends a personal wallet protected by a hardware key.

WHY A HARDWARE KEY

A wallet installed only on a computer or a phone keeps your keys on a device connected to the internet. A hardware key keeps them in a dedicated device: each operation must be physically validated on it.

BenefitIn practice
Your keys stay in the deviceThey are stored neither on your computer nor on your phone: the wallet application cannot sign without the key.
Each operation is checkedYou check the details of the operation on the key's screen before confirming it.
A lost device blocks nothingYour recovery phrase lets you restore the wallet on a new device.

CHOOSE ACCORDING TO THE NETWORK

ACTUARUS runs on Ethereum and Solana

Choose the network before creating the wallet: this is the network on which you will receive your stablecoins and settle your transactions. A single wallet is enough.

CREATE THE WALLET IN FIVE STEPS

  1. Choose the network

Ethereum or Solana, depending on the network on which your provider delivers your stablecoins. EURC, ACTUARUS's default settlement rail, exists on both.

  2. Get equipped

Get a hardware key, preferably directly from the manufacturer or an official reseller.

  3. Install the application

Download the wallet application only from its publisher's official website or the official app store, then connect your hardware key to it by following the publisher's instructions.

  4. Write down the recovery phrase

At initialisation, the device generates a recovery phrase of 12 to 24 words (24 on Ledger devices). Write it down on paper and keep it offline in a safe place; do not photograph it, do not store it in any online service and never share it.

  5. Register the address

Copy your wallet's address and add it to the authorised withdrawal addresses with your authorised provider. Keep a little ETH or SOL in this wallet: the fees for your operations on the network are paid in these tokens.

USE THE WALLET ON ACTUARUS

  1. Connect the wallet

From your ACTUARUS space, connect your wallet. It becomes your settlement account for all your transactions.

  2. Sign the contract

The parties validate the terms of the transaction — price, condition, compliance criteria, deadlines — and sign the electronic contract.

  3. Lock the funds

You validate the lock on your hardware key. The funds then move from your wallet to the smart contract. Network fees are covered by ACTUARUS.

  4. Receive and confirm

On receipt of the goods, the buyer confirms compliance from their wallet.

  5. Receive the payment

On the seller's side, the released funds arrive directly in their wallet, ready to be kept or converted back into euros.
